Tomb of Bir Shrestha Mostafa Kamal – Brahmanbaria

The heroes have liberated the country with their lives. One of their soldiers is Mohammad Mostafa Kamal. The people of Daruin village of Akhaura in Brahmanbaria are still cherishing the memory of this heroic freedom fighter with utmost care.

Daruin village is three miles away from Akhaura in Brahmanbaria. It was in this village that Mohammad Mostafa Kamal, the greatest soldier, was martyred while fighting against the Pakistani invaders. There is a big pond next to his grave. Mostafa Kamal fought by using the tall palm tree on the bank of the pond as a shield. A memorial plaque has been erected at the place where he fought.

Freedom fighter Abdul Hamid was Mostafa Kamal’s comrade-in-arms that day. He said that Mostafa Kamal had saved more than two hundred freedom fighters from certain death with his life.

After the martyrdom of Mostafa Kamal, his body lay there for a few days. Later, when the situation in the village calmed down, the locals came and buried Mostafa Kamal on the other side of the pond.
