The Khulna Divisional Museum – Khulna

In terms of square footage, the Khulna Divisional Museum (Bibhagio Jadughar), which is managed by the National Museum and under the direction of the Department of Archaeology, is the biggest museum in the nation. This museum exhibits various archaeological artefacts discovered in various regions of the nation, particularly barbazars in Jhenaidah, Bharat Bhayana in Jessore, and Khanjahan Ali tombs in Bagerhat.

In this museum, photographs of various heritages of the southern region of the country will be seen, including world heritages known as Shatgombuj Jami Mosque, Nine Dome Mosque, Ranvijaypur Mosque, Jinda Pir Mosque, Sona Bibi Mosque, Singara Mosque, Didar Khar Mosque, Anwar Khar Mosque, Ahmad Khar Mosque, Chillakhana, Khanjahan Ali’s Residence, and Dighi, Kotwali, Kaladighini Mosque. Meherpur, Jessore, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Narail, Magura, Kushtia, and Jhenaidah There are also pictures of numerous significant archaeological sites across the nation here.

Apart from photographs, the museum will see artefacts of various antiquities of the Gupta, Pal, Sen, Mughal, and British periods, various terracotta idols, hard stone statues, black stone statues, copper, iron, brass, clay, and glass ware, weapons made of different metals, various toys, various used items, gold and silver coins of the Mughal period, and thousands of years of history, tradition, and culture of Bangladesh, including the greater Khulna region.

Museum ticket costs The museum’s entrance gate is next to a ticket counter.

The cost of each ticket is Tk 15 (although children under five do not need a ticket).
For secondary-level kids and teens, the entrance fee has been set at Tk 5.
Tickets cost Rs 100 for other foreign visitors and Tk 50 for foreign visitors to SAARC.

Summer hours for the fort are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with museum hours falling between those hours. It is currently closed from 1 to 1:30 PM for a half-hour.

Throughout the winter, it is accessible from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed between 1 and 1.30, even in the winter.

Additionally, Friday prayers are adjourned as usual from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

Sunday is a holiday, and the store is open starting at 2:00 PM on Monday. On any official holiday, the museum is also open.

The Sonadanga Bus Terminal in Khulna is a short distance from the divisional museum. The only modes of transportation from the bus terminal to the Shibbari intersection are rickshaws and simple bikes. At the intersection of Shibbari and Zia Halls is the Khulna Divisional Museum.
