The western part of Laxmipur district is flooded by the river Meghna. The river enters Laxmipur in Raipur upazila through the north-western corner of Laxmipur district from the south-eastern side of Chandpur district. Every year in the monsoon, the water of the Meghna river increases and causes floods. The river Meghna flows through all four of the five upazilas of Laxmipur district. The Katakhali, Rahmat Khali and Bhulua rivers merge into the Meghna to the west.
Meghna river is a large river in Bangladesh. A lot of silver hilsa is found in this river. A large part of the income of most of the people of Ramgati is to make a living by fishing in the Meghna. It is also possible to take a boat trip on the river Meghna. The gentle breeze of the afternoon cools the body and carries its existence into a world of peace. Which, of course, made the video an overnight sensation. But this mind blowing river has become a terrible river for the people living along the river today. Because just as this river gives happiness to people, it breaks the shore and makes people landless.
How to get there:
Ramgati Bazar can be reached from the upazila by bus, CNG and Tempu, 5 minutes walk or by rickshaw to the river bank.
