Katka Beach – Sundarban

One of the most beautiful spots in all of the Sundarbans is Kotka Sea Beach. Khulna and Bagerhat, in the southeast corner of the Sundarbans, are home to Katka Beach. What this means is that it is the most visited and most important sanctuary in the eastern part of the Sundarbans and is situated roughly 90 kilometers from Manglabandar.

The Sundarbans are famous for their population of Royal Bengal Tigers. However, it is reasonable to expect to see tigers in the wild. Even if a tiger is spotted near him, he still has to worry about his own well-being.

Katka Sanctuary is a great place to visit in the Sundarbans, and it’s a safe place to see tigers. One of the most famous residents of the Sundarbans, the Royal Bengal Tiger, is frequently spotted in this area. In addition, the beautiful Chitra deer herds, various bird species, tranquil nature, and abundance of wild animals have made Katka Sanctuary a popular destination for tourists for many years.

The Sundarban region (Khulna and Mangala in Bagerhat) is where you need to start if you’re planning on visiting Cuttack. The launch is the most common method of getting to Cuttack. This tourist boat is moored in the Katka canal.

On the western side of the canal, above the jetty, you’ll find the forest office. There is a short brick path to the west of here. After that, you’ll eventually reach the ocean. Watching the sun go down from here is a treat.

At low tide in the canal on the north side of the timbered tail, directly west from the back of the Cuttack Forest Department office, you can see dense patches of mangrove vegetation. In addition, if you go someplace peaceful, you can observe a herd of Chitra deer.

After venturing south of the forest for some time, you’ll come upon a trio of tiger mounds. This dune frequently displays tiger prints. Boyar Canal can be found to the west of the Tiger Dunes. There are keora, golpata, and other birds in abundance on both sides of the canal.

Keora forest, located across the canal to the north of Katkar jetty, is home to a variety of wildlife, including herds of deer, monkeys, and pigs. It is also possible to spot saltwater crocodiles sunbathing in the winter. There is a small creek that flows due east just beyond the Cuttack Forest Office. There’s a small jetty on the right side of the road and a watch tower up ahead after traveling for a while. There are four floors in the Katkar watchtower. The tower is 40 feet high, providing a great vantage point for taking in the breathtaking views of the Sundarbans.

This area features a stunning beach. Walking back from the lookout tower is a great way to take in the sights of the beach. stretch of forest to the east, with pools of clean water in between. This pond provides drinking water for the active Coast Guard, forest officers, and local fishermen.

From this vantage point, you can see almost all of the Sundarbans’ endangered animal species. In addition, a small canal not far from the lookout tower is home to a surprisingly large number of wild animals. Overall, Cuttack Sanctuary is a stunning place to relax and enjoy nature.

From the Cuttack Watch Tower, head three kilometers due north to reach Jamtala Beach. Jamgach Beach, which lives up to its name, can be found in a range of sizes along the route. Jamtala Beach is pristine and relatively secluded. The entire beach is covered in crab art. The tidal waves have exposed the roots of trees that were previously buried. You can follow the beach all the way to Kachikhali. It’s not recommended to go swimming at Jamtala Beach.
