Dalal Bazar Zamindar house is one of the oldest landlord houses in Laxmipur. There is no end to the curiosity of the people around this ancient landlord house located in Laxmipur mouza on the south-west side adjacent to Dalal Bazar. Established on five acres of land, Raj Gate, landlord palace, Andar Mahal, Andar Pukur, paved pond all attract the attention of pedestrians.
It is known that a man named Laxminarayan came to the broker market to trade in clothes. His son Brajballav expanded the business by virtue of his skills. Brajballav’s son GauroKishore came to Calcutta to study with the East India Company and bought landlording. Gaurokishore received the title of king in 1765 AD. Gaurokishore Roy and Rani Lakshmi Priya were childless.
They adopted Govinda Kishore from Bikrampur in Dhaka as their adopted son. Nalini Kishore Roy Chowdhury, son of Govinda Kishore, showed skill in collecting, supervising and spreading the rent of their zamindari. People still come from far and wide to see the walls of the land house, the inner courtyard, the construction materials especially the iron bhim weighing a few tons, the huge iron chest, the dance hall, the outdoors.
How to go:
From Dhaka you can go by road to Laxmipur by Econo or Dhaka Express. It takes 5 and a half hours. The bus leaves from Sayedabad. The buses pass over Dalal Bazar. Dalal Bazar will get off the bus.
The landlord’s house is located about 1.5 km from Dalal Bazar Main Road (station). The house can be easily reached by any means of transportation.
You can also go to Chandpur. From Chandpur Ghat you will go to Dalal Bazar by CNG. In that case it will take less time. Dalal Bazar landlord’s house is with bazaerr.
