Mir Masharraf Hossain Memorial Center was laid in the city to protect the memory of Mir Musharraf Hossain. The Mir Mosharraf Hossain Memorial Museum (মীর মশাররফ হোসেন স্মৃতি জাদুঘর ), which was built on an area of about two acres at a cost of Tk 2.5 crore, was opened to the visitors at 2005. The Mir Masharraf Hossain Memorial Center has a seminar, seating room, office, library, guest room, reception room, dining, kitchen and decoration room. At present, many visitors come to visit this memorial center.
A rural village of Padmadi in Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari. The village, now known to many, is surrounded by the tomb of Mir Masharraf Hossain, the author of the eponymous novel ‘Bishad Sindh’. Mir Masharraf Hossain was born in Matulala of Lahinipara in Kushtia on 13 November 1847, but spent almost his entire life in the village of Padmadi in Nawabpur union of Baliacandi upazila of ancestral residence Rajbari. It was here that Mir Masharraf Hossain wrote some of his life’s poems, novels, novels, plays, autobiographies, translations and essays.
He was buried here after his death on December 19, 1911.
Mir Mosharraf Hossain Memorial Center is closed to visitors on all types of public holidays, including Fridays and Saturdays.
How to go
From Gbatli in the capital Dhaka to Rabia, Rajbari transport, Satbarna, Saudia bus ride to Rajbari is charged at Tk 250 per person. Apart from this, if you want to reduce the cost, ride on BRTC buses, you can reach Paturia at 100 taka and cross the river at launch for a rent of 25 Tk and then ride on bus to rich Rajbari City for 30 taka.
After coming to the Rajbari district, you can reserve an auto-rickshaw and go directly to the Mir Masharraf Hossain Memorial Center. Besides, by bus or autorickshaw, one can come to the mahimashahi bazaar at Kalukhali upazila on Rajbari-Kushtia Road and go to the memorial center with another autorickshaw.
