Tlabong Jharna or Double Falls or Klibung Jhorna – Bandarban

Tlabong Jharna or Double Falls or Klibung Jharna by whatever name you know why it is located below Sungsang Para in Ruma Upazila of Bandarban. Its distance from the local village of Bam is about 2.5 km to the south-east. About two hours’ walk from Keokradong, this waterfall is very deep in the forest between Sungsang Para and Thaikshang Para.

Its main difference from other fountains is that it has two fountains. The two streams Pransha or Prangsha (left) and Pankhiang or Pangkhiang (right) Jhiri combine to form two interesting waterfalls. It is called Double Falls because the two springs are together. Rain and winter always have more or less water in this spring.

How to go:

If you want to see Tlabong Jhorna Double Falls, you have to come to Bandarban. From Dhaka to Bandarban there are several transport buses including Dolphin, Shyamoli, S Alam service. Rent 700-800 taka. From Bandarban you have to go by bus or moon car to Ruma Sadar Upazila. Bus fare 100 taka. One bus leaves from Bandarban for Ruma Bazar every one hour. It takes two to two and a half hours. From there the next destination is Bagalek . The rent for the moon car is 1800-2500 taka.

You have to trek to the next path from Bagalek. After walking for three hours,You will reach Keokradong, the fifth highest peak in Bangladesh, via Darjeeling Para. . After a short walk, Pasingpara is the highest village in Bangladesh. Clouds and rain under the feet. Suddenly the body is covered with clouds in the air, oh! No one can explain to others without seeing with their eyes. Now it’s your turn to go down, about a thousand feet down to Sungsangpara. You will come to Sungsang Para to observe the rocky roads, the trees that touch the horizon, the snakes and frogs hiding in the forest. You have to leave behind Sungsangpara surrounded by hills and go ahead with heroism by traversing deep forests and jhiri. Mama will never know when two or four leeches will suck blood. After walking for about two hours, you will hear the sound of uninterrupted water falling on your ears. Understand, this time it’s time to soak your tired body in the clear crystal clear ice water of Double Falls.

Stay-eat:

You can spend the first night in Bagalek Para on the way to Tlabang. There are accommodation facilities for tourists. Siam Didi or Laram’s two-storey wooden houses cost 200 taka per person. Here you can get khichuri with fried eggs and mashed potatoes for 100 taka. The next day you can spend the next night at Robert Bam’s house in Sungsangpara after seeing the Tlabong waterfall. We have to collect rice and curry from the neighborhood and cook it yourselves. Arrangements will be made to stay here for only 200 taka. You can eat smoked zoom rice with mountain chicken broth for hundreds of rupees. No matter where you are, getting up in the morning and seeing the sea of ​​clouds under your feet with wide eyes is but one thing for sure.

Cost : It will cost three to three and a half thousand taka per person including the travel, accommodation and guide expenses of a group of four or five people from Dhaka.
