Sonaichhari Trail – Chittagong

Sonaichhari Trail is the most beautiful and captivating trail in Chittagong with a length of 28 km . The Soniichhari Trail is located in the Hadi Fakirhat Bazar area of the Mirsarai Hill Range in Chittagong District and is part of the Bariadhala Sanctuary.

Baduijjakhum or Bandure Kum on this trail is a narrow but wide deep kum, with rocky walls on both sides 100-150 feet high! The plants above do not allow much light to come in, and thousands of bats flutter their wings and scream in the ears! And it has created such a bad smell  and horrible ghost atmosphere!

This trail is so inaccessible that it is extremely risky to go in the rainy season. It is only possible to go there in winter, but there is still some risk. There is no doubt that all the steep canyons, all the deep and slippery roads, all the huge rocks, the annoyance of bats, the fear of leeches, all in all it is a very difficult and adventurous place.

On the way you will find thousands of different types of plants, hundreds of gooseberry trees, as much as you want to put in the bag, no one will forbid you. There are many monkeys, the locals say lengur. If your luck is good, they will not do any monkey work. Because on such a risky trail you can be in danger even if you are careless for any reason.

Towards the end of the trail there are fountains, there are all sorts of cascades, there is Badur-kum or Baduijakum. Such a name because of the large number of bats. Different species of fish are found in this very deep well. The locals hunt them at different times.

It is said that this is the most difficult trail of the Mirsarai Range. Whether it is raining or winter, you must have a life jacket with you. Especially in the rainy season, the road becomes very slippery, there is a risk of falling into the water at any moment.
