The Bir Shreshtha Matiur Rahman Museum was established on March 31, 2008, to acknowledge the remarkable role of Bir Shreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman in the Liberation War of Bangladesh and to preserve his memory.
As part of a project to build museums and libraries at the birthplaces of the seven Bir Shreshthas and three Language Martyrs, the museum was officially inaugurated on March 31, 2008, by Deputy Commander A. K. Khandkar.
The museum houses nearly 2,800 books, though it does not contain any personal artifacts belonging to the Bir Shreshtha himself.
How to Reach:
The Bir Shreshtha Matiur Rahman Museum is located in Mahmudabad, a former Ramnagar village in Raipura Upazila of Narsingdi, near the Bhairab boundary on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway.
